PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROYEK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR SISWA SMA NEGERI 3 LUBUKLINGGAU

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model in enhancing student motivation and learning activity at SMA Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau. The research was initiated due to low student learning motivation, indicated by minimal participation, lack of enthusiasm, and poor focus during classroom activities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation, documentation, and literature review as data collection techniques. The results show that PJBL significantly improves student engagement through hands-on project involvement, group collaboration, and presentations. Moreover, student motivation increased notably, as reflected in greater responsibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. These findings align with Rahmawati (2021), who reported that 90.48% of students showed higher learning motivation after implementing PJBL. Similarly, confirmed that PJBL fosters student collaboration and critical thinking in thematic learning. Thus, PJBL can serve as an effective alternative instructional strategy for teachers to create interactive, enjoyable, and skill-oriented learning environments aligned with 21st-century education demands.
